Hello—I'm Shane, a dedicated educator and mindfulness practitioner based in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

I hold a BS in science and have several years of teaching experience, complemented by over a decade of Vipassana meditation practice and a background in business development and strategy.

I currently teach 6th-grade English and Social Studies in Montfort College Primary's English Program, where I bring mindfulness practices into the classroom to support students' focus and well-being.

Passionate about holistic student development, I now offer private tutoring sessions that combine targeted English support (aligned with Montfort EP curriculum) with mindfulness techniques drawn from Vipassana and core Buddhist teachings—helping kids build concentration, manage stress, and approach learning with greater clarity and balance.

Personalized Tutoring & Mindfulness Coaching

One-on-one sessions tailored for Montfort College Primary English Program students and other english program students in Chiang Mai (especially 6th grade and similar levels).

As the current 6th-grade English and Social Studies teacher at Montfort—I bring direct insight into the EP curriculum, classroom challenges, and individual strengths.

Sessions blend targeted English skill-building with practical mindfulness practices drawn from Buddhist teachings and my 10+ years of Vipassana meditation experience.

The goal: stronger academics (reading, writing, comprehension, speaking) + tools for better focus, reduced stress, emotional balance, and resilient learning habits.

Session Details

  • Duration: 60–90 minutes per session

  • Format: In-person (Chiang Mai area, e.g., home/school vicinity) or online via Zoom

  • Focus Areas (customized to your child's needs):

    • English Program support: Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing structure, speaking confidence—aligned with current Montfort units and assessments

    • Mindfulness integration: Age-appropriate Buddhist-inspired tools (breath awareness for concentration, metta for kindness/self-compassion, reflection on impermanence to ease perfectionism/anxiety, simple vipassana-style observation)

    • Holistic outcomes: Improved study habits, calmer test/exam prep, greater emotional regulation

Pricing

  • Single session: 1,000–1,400 THB (60–90 minutes, depending on focus and duration—e.g., lighter review vs. deep exam prep + mindfulness)

  • Introductory trial session: 800–900 THB (60–90 minutes, discounted to let families experience the full blend)

  • 5-session package: 4,800–6,500 THB (effective ~960–1,300/hour; save ~10–15%)

  • 10-session package: 9,000–12,500 THB (effective ~900–1,250/hour; save ~15–20%)

    All sessions in-person (Chiang Mai area) or online via Zoom. Packages paid upfront for commitment and best progress. Flexible scheduling around school hours/weekends.
